The Superbowl, the Greatest Annual American Football Event

Also known as ‘The Big Game', the Super Bowl is probably the most famous sporting event broadcast on television, purely for its high viewing statistics and high-profile celebrities who perform before the game and at half time. The Super Bowl is the championship game of the NFL (National Football League), the premier association of professional American Football.

The first ever game took place in 1967 and it has taken place every year since, on Super Bowl Sunday. This has changed over the years but is now the first Sunday of February.

The Super Bowl is a major sporting event not only because it showcases the best American Football players, but also because it has been turned into an American tradition and incredible spectacle.
